What's the difference between the Hope Fund and Hope Forward?

There are two main areas where Hope Forward and the Hope Fund overlap. 1. They both help Hope College become more accessible to students, and 2. their initials are "HF." Otherwise, they're very different!

The Hope Fund equates to scholarships for Hope students, which makes a Hope College education accessible and affordable for more students.

Hope Forward isn't a scholarship; it's a solution to the problem of college education being too expensive. Hope Forward is an entirely new funding model that, when fully realized, will provide a tuition-free education for every student at Hope College.

Instead of charging tuition before receiving a transformative Hope education, this pay-it-forward approach will ask students to give to the college after they graduate — out of gratitude, not obligation — providing the same opportunity for future students. And because they will graduate free from the burden of debt, they’ll be better positioned to pursue lives of impact, not just income to pay the bills. Learn more at dayofgiving.hope.edu/scholarships

1. First, select the "Category" from the first drop-down menu. Then choose the specific department or program "Fund Designation" from the second drop-down menu.

2. Once you make your first designation, select "+ Add another gift to your donation" to designate more than one area for your gift.

What if I don’t see the area I want to support?

If you wish to give to a very specific fund not listed on the drop-down menu, please select "other" in the first drop-down list and "other" in the second drop-down list and type in the area you'd like to support.

Can I make a gift to support a particular athletics team?

In order to help us stay in compliance with NCAA and federal equity guidelines, please support the Orange and Blue Fund. The Orange and Blue Fund supports enhancements for all athletics teams and programming that promote academic success, competitive excellence, and transformational experiences.

Is my gift tax-deductible?

Yes. Contributions to support specific areas of Hope College are tax-deductible, as allowed by law. You will receive a receipt for your donation.
